Gautam Gambhir: The market of speculation in Indian cricket is hot as Gautam Gambhir may soon lose the post of head coach of Team India (Gautam Gambhir). Recent controversies over the results of team selection and white ball cricket have added ghee to this fire. The name of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) has surfaced as a possible replacement… ..
The future of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of Team India is in the balance, and there are reports that his role can be reviewed soon. Amidst this uncertainty, former captain MS Dhoni’s name has surfaced as a potential successor.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020 after scoring more than 16,000 runs, is one of the most respected people as a player and captain in Indian cricket.
Akash Chopra’s big statement
Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra has supported Dhoni to make Dhoni a head coach in place of Gautam Gambhir. According to Chopra, if Dhoni decides to give something back to Indian cricket as coaching, he will be an ideal option.
He also reminded the fans that Dhoni also played a mentor role during the 2021 T20 World Cup, when Ravi Shastri was a coach and Virat Kohli captain. However, Chopra also emphasized that Dhoni is unlikely to be a full -time coach.
Dhoni may not accept the role of coach
Chopra highlighted individual and commercial challenges associated with the post. A full -time Indian head coach has to dedicate about 10 months a year to international tours and training programs. Many former players avoid such responsibilities.
Dhoni may not be willing to return to such a lifestyle. Meanwhile, his team was the best in the CSK 2025 points table and could not go into two consecutive seasons playoffs, despite this, CSK retained Dhoni for ₹ 4 crores as a ‘unaccounted’ player.
