Along with Diwali, the government also gives this amount on more than half a dozen other festivals. Festival advance is given on Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, Rakshabandhan as well as Eid and Christmas. Not only this, employees can also take festival advance on national festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day.

The government has made a provision to give Rs 4,000 to the employees as festival advance. This amount will be deposited in the accounts of the employees. The employee taking the advance will have to return the amount in 10 installments with 6.50 percent interest. The installment of festival advance will be deducted from the employee’s salary.
