IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, all the teams are stuck in a dilemma as to which players they should retain and which players they should release. Meanwhile, big news is also coming out from the camp of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). According to media reports, RCB team is going to retain only 3 players before the mega auction.

Virat Kohli will undoubtedly be a name among these three players. Whereas Faf du Plessis is sure to be given another chance as captain. Whereas, the third retained player will be Mohammad Siraj. Siraj has taken 93 wickets in the IPL since making his debut in 2013 and has become the leader of the team’s bowling attack over the years. His best season came in 2023, where he added 19 wickets to his name, while in 2024 he managed to take 15 wickets.

The RCB team is thinking of forming a new team in the next season and that is why they have thought of retaining only three players. This means that strong players like Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Will Jacques can be released. Well, no official statement has come from RCB regarding this yet but if this media report proves to be true then the fans will keep their eyes on the auction.

Let us tell you that only last month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced the retention rules of IPL 2025. According to these rules, a team can retain a maximum of 6 players. If reports are to be believed, all the teams have to submit the list of their retained and released players by October 31.
