Mexico City/New Delhi, October 19 (Hindustan Reporter) Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman met Dr. Rogelio Ramirez de la O, Secretary of Finance and Public Debt of Mexico in Mexico City on Saturday. In which important issues were discussed between the two leaders. Sitharaman said during the meeting that India would be happy to share its experiences with the Mexican government and explore the possibility of cooperation based on India’s digital transformation.

In a statement issued on ‘X’ post, the Finance Minister’s Office said that Nirmala Sitharaman, during her discussion with her Mexican counterpart, said that India has registered more than one billion bank accounts, mobile phones and digital identity Aadhaar, Unified Payment Interface UPI, Account Aggregator. The framework and direct benefit transfers leveraging the foundation of DBT have succeeded in creating a new digital economy, empowering the vulnerable as well as the larger society.

Union Finance Minister Sitharaman congratulated Dr. Rogelio Ramirez de la O on being appointed as Finance and Public Debt Secretary for the second consecutive term. Also praised the strong performance of the Mexican economy in the last 6 years following prudent fiscal policies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rogelio Ramírez shared the foundational pillars of Mexican governance to help the population as a whole. These include support to low-income households, significant infrastructure development, and supply-side measures.
