Major fire breaks out in 51 feet high statue of Maa Kali in Barela

Palpal correspondent, Jabalpur. There was chaos and screaming in the early hours of today in village Bamhani Barela located in Jabalpur, MP. When the 51 feet high statue of Mata Kali caught fire. Within a short time the fire took a huge form and within no time the statue was burnt to ashes. As soon as the news of the incident was received, the people of the village gathered, among whom there was discussion that the accident had happened while removing a beehive.

It has been told that today the 51 feet high statue of Mata Kali seated in village Bamhani Barela was to be immersed. Due to which the committee workers were busy preparing for immersion till late night. Activists set fire to remove beehives built near the statue. Whose flames spread rapidly and engulfed the statue of Mata Kali. Within no time the idol of Mata Kali started burning. Seeing the idol of Mata Kali on fire, some people tried to extinguish the fire but the fire had become huge. As soon as the news was received, Barela police station and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and brought the fire under control. At that time the statue was burnt to ashes. It is noteworthy that for the last few years, a 51 feet statue of Mata Kali is being installed on the occasion of Navratri. The villagers are shocked by the fire incident here, they are unable to understand how this happened. He also says that the fire was controlled in time, because there are houses built nearby, if the fire had escalated, there could have been loss of life.
