Bihar Voter Verification, Supreme Court said- Aadhaar is also valid
In the Supreme Court, the ongoing Special Intensive Revision i.e. SIR (Voter List Verification) was held on Friday in Bihar. The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission (ECI) to allow the deleted voters to be physically applied in addition to physically to add their names to the list.
The Supreme Court also said that none of the 11 documents given in Form 6 including Aadhaar card can be deposited, these include documents like driving license, passbook, water bill.
The court also reprimanded political parties for silence on the matter and asked what you are doing to help the voters. You should come forward. The next hearing will be held on 8 September.
The Supreme Court asked the parties- what are you doing
During the hearing, the court asked the Election Commission several questions. Justice Suryakant said- Inaction of political parties is surprising. Out of the 12 political parties of the state, only 3 parties have come to the court. What are you doing to help the voters.
The court also surprised that despite having about 1.6 lakh booth level agents from political parties, only two objections have come from them.
Aadhar card must be considered: SC
The Supreme Court has given a big order during the hearing and has allowed to apply online to add names to the voter list. It is not necessary to submit the form physically.
The Supreme Court also said that any of the 11 documents given in Form 6 (such as driving license, passbook, water bill etc.) can be deposited or Aadhaar card. The court has also ordered to accept the Aadhaar card.
Demand to extend SIR deadline
During the hearing, senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi argued, ‘This issue is not relevant. Everyone should trust the Election Commission. Give us some time, we will put a better picture in front and prove that no one has been excluded.
Advocate Grover opposed this and said, ‘There is confusion on the ground over this whole process. The Commission should release a press release on this and extend the deadline so that fairness remains.
Bhushan questioned, ‘What will happen to 7.24 crore voters? 12% is called BLOS called ‘Not Ricamen’. 36 thousand forms will have to be checked daily, it is not possible. There will be no solution left in such a situation.
