BJP led at national level National Democratic Alliance (NDA) To counter the opposition parties Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) Made, in which Congress, RJD and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) are also components. JMM and Congress on Saturday announced that both parties will contest 70 of the 81 assembly seats in the state and the remaining seats will be contested by Ghatak’s other allies.

RJD spokesperson Manoj Kumar Jha said, “Less than 12-13 seats is not acceptable to us, because RJD has a strong hold on 18-20 seats. If we are asked to contest on three-four seats, we will not Not ready to make sacrifices.” “Our only objective is to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), we will not harm the ‘India’ alliance,” he said, according to PTI.

Rajya Sabha member Jha said that even if the party decides to contest the elections alone, it will support INDIA’s candidates on 60-62 seats. RJD had contested seven seats in the 2019 assembly elections and won one seat. Party MLA Satyanand Bhokta is a minister in the Hemant Soren cabinet. Jha said he was pained by the development as his party was not consulted despite the sacrifices made by agreeing to contest on seven seats during the 2019 elections.

He said, “We had withdrawn our candidates from many seats despite distributing election symbols to our candidates at the behest of our national president (Lalu Prasad)… We contested only seven seats and had a narrow margin on five of them.” There is no allegation of corruption here against our only minister Satyanand Bhokta.” Jha claimed that RJD had played an important role in the formation of INDIA and was also instrumental in making Hemant Soren the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

He said, “We are natural opponents of BJP. Instead of bowing down, we accepted jail for our leaders… Jharkhand and Bihar have special relations and we expected a respectful share. We had cordial talks with the Chief Minister, But despite this, a unilateral decision was taken in seat distribution, which is acceptable neither to our workers nor to the leaders.”

Jha reiterated that his feelings were ignored. He said that the decision on how many seats RJD will contest will be made public on Monday because the party will not let its boat sink. Jha said senior RJD leaders, including leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, were in Ranchi and held a meeting on the issue. Voting will be held in Jharkhand in two phases on November 13 and 20 and the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
