Preparation for Gaganyaan Mission- Crew Module’s Air Drop Test

ISRO conducted an air drop test (IADT-01) with the help of the first parachute for the Gaganyaan Mission in Sriharikota on Sunday. During this time, the crew module was dropped from a height of 4 km through the Chinook helicopter of the Indian Air Force.

The purpose of this test was to check the reliability of parachutes before the Gaganyaan Mission. This test was to know whether the parachutes that bring crew modules from space or not are safe, whether it is safe.

Air drop test was a joint operation of ISRO, Indian Air Force, DRDO, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.

Astronauts of Gaganyaan honored in Delhi

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Indian Air Force Space Conference on Sunday. He honored Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his other colleagues, Group Captain PV Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan and Group Captain Angad Pratap. During this, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Air Force Chief Air Marshal AP Singh were also present.

Addressing the program, Rajnath Singh said, ‘I was told that you (Shubhanshu Shukla) are also devotees of Bajrang Bali. You must have read Hanuman Chalisa several times there (in space). A devotee of Hanuman ji has returned by touching the heights of the sky. This is not just a victory of science. This is the echo of faith and courage. ‘

At the same time, Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla said, ‘I have a clip, in which I tried to capture India with space. India looks really beautiful with space. Especially when coming from South over the Indian Ocean from the South at night, when passing over India, it is one of the most beautiful views seen in life. ‘

Shubhanshu showed a video of the space and said that he was passing over India at that time. The video has the earth upwards. The stars are visible below. Shubhanshu said that sunrise is also visible from the orbit at the end of the video.

Shubhanshu’s next mission will be Gaganyaan

Shubhanshu’s next mission will be Gaganyaan. This is the Human Space Mission of ISRO. Under this, three Air Force pilots will be sent to space in 2027 from spacecraft. These pilots will be 3 days on an orbit of 400 km, after which a spacecraft landing will be made in the Indian Ocean. The cost of the mission is around Rs 20,193 crore.

Four Air Force pilots have been selected for the Gaganyaan Mission, one of which is Captain Shubhanshu Shukla. Shubhanshu, that’s why the International Space Station went to the International Space Station under the Exium Mission.

ISRO will send two empty test flights before sending pilots to space through Gaganyaan. The robot will be sent to the third flight. After its success, humans will be able to go on space in the fourth flight. The first Test flight can be sent by the end of this year.
