In Kerala, Bigg Boss fame Jasmin Jafar gave rise to a new controversy by creating a reel in the pond of the famous Gurvayur temple. After the video surfaced, the Guruvayur Devaswam Board has announced that Punyaham (purification ritual) will be organized in the temple pond. The video, in which Jafar was shown entering the holy pond to film Instagram reel with a non-Hindu contestant, went viral and criticized it by devotees and cultural organizations.
Special rituals will be done
Devaswam Board officials said that this ritual will have special rituals for six days, in which 18 puja and 18 Xivelis will be repeated from Tuesday morning. During this time, there will also be a ban on philosophy. The pond of the temple where Lord Krishna is traditionally bathed as a ritual, is considered highly sacred. According to the rules, photography, filming or entry of non-Hindus are strictly forbidden. The Devaswam Administrator lodged a formal complaint, alleging that Jafar’s act violated the traditions of the temple and hurt religious sentiments.
Jasmine Jafar apologizes
Facing heavy criticism, Jasmine Jafar publicly apologized and said she was not aware of the sanctions. He said in a statement, ‘I never intended to hurt anyone or cause trouble. Ignorance, I made a mistake and I apologize to those who have been hurt. The Guruvayur temple management has reiterated its stand that the sanctity of the temple complex should remain all the time and will be strictly dealt with by violations. The incident has re -resurrected the debate on the responsibility of social media in the place of worship.
