What is the meaning of Michmi Dukkadam? ‘Michmi Dukkadam’ Prakrit language is a word. This literally means:
• Michmi: Forgiveness or apologize.
• Dukkadam: Perfect or bad deeds.
Thus, it means’Forgive me for all the bad deeds done by me. It is not only from one person, but from every living being in this world, be it man, animal or any micro -organism.
Why is it called on Samvatsari? Paryushan festival is of eight days, in which followers of Jainism purify their soul through fasting, self -study and meditation.
