‘Param Sundari’ and ‘Chennai Express’
Jahnavi Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra are busy promoting their upcoming film ‘Param Sundari’ which is scheduled to release in theaters on August 29. Since the release of the trailer of this cross-cultural romance, many fans have been comparing the story of this film to the film ‘Chennai Express’ released in 2013. The story of this film by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was also based on some such cross-cultural romance. Now Jahnavi Kapoor has reacted on this and said that the story of these two films is very different.
What did Siddharth and Jahnavi say
In an interview to Mirchi Plus, when both were asked what their opinion is about these comparisons with ‘Chennai Express’, Siddharth said,’ I think it’s a very good thing. I like Chennai Express very much! I think this is a good hint. I take it as a compliment. The film was released 10 years ago. Both these films are not the same! ‘ Talking on this issue, Jahnavi also spoke.
Jahnavi’s character is very different from Deepika Padukone
Jahnavi said, ‘This is a hit and a famous film. But, Deepika Padukone plays a Tamilian in the film and I am playing the role of half Tamil, half Malayali girl … If you think about it, it is a generalization from those who are comparing both films. I am from Kerala in the film and not all the people of the south can be kept together. This is a movie with a completely different atmosphere and it is not at all that it is a repetition. Jahnavi further said, ‘2 states were similar, but it came after Chennai Express and such films are not released every year. The point is that people are not comparing us to anything that should be forgotten, Chennai Express was a great film with great characters and actors.
Romance blast at box office
Apart from Siddharth Malhotra and Jahnavi Kapoor, ‘Param Sundari’ also stars Rajiv Khandelwal and Akash Dahiya in lead roles. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film will be released on August 29, 2025.
