Suddenly a bridge over Tawi river collapsed

Jammu has been raining continuously for the last four days. The rains have caused heavy havoc, causing widespread damage in many districts including Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch. 30 passengers going for Vaishno Devi Yatra have died and many villages are in flood. The Army, SDRF, NDRF and local police-administration are engaged in rescue operations. Many areas have caused heavy damage due to cloudburst. Many rivers are in spate due to continuous rains. The Tawi river in Jammu seems to be the most holocaust.

Suddenly collapse bridge

At the same time, on Tuesday, a bridge over the Jammu Tawi river collapsed amidst the rain. This accident happened when vehicles were running on this bridge. The live video of the sinking of this bridge has also surfaced. It is seen in the video that in the midst of heavy rains, people are going through their vehicles and everyone is in a hurry to cross the bridge, then suddenly the bridge gets sunk. Many vehicles also get stuck in this trapped bridge and people are seen running out of the car to escape.

After the bridge collapsed, movement on the bridge was stopped and people were asked to maintain patience. Please tell that the water level of Tawi river has crossed the danger mark. On Tuesday, at least four people are reported to have been killed in Doda district. Three of these people slipped and fell into the river and drowned in the water with strong current, while one died due to collapse.

There are reports of a lot of damage in the altitude areas of Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri, Ramban and Poonch districts of Jammu. CM Omar Abdullah described the situation as serious and he presided over an emergency meeting and ordered the district administrators to stay on high alert.
