Dudma sprinkled 22 -year -old YouTuber missing for five days, dreadful scene captured in camera
YouTuber swept away in the rapid flow of water.
Bhubaneswar: A 22 -year -old, hailing from Brahmapur city of Odisha, has been missing for 5 days after flowing in a strong waterfall of Koraput district while creating a YouTuber reel. The police gave this information on Wednesday. A senior police officer said that a team of disaster management and fire personnel is engaged in search operation, but YouTuber has not been detected.
YouTuber went to make reel on the waterfall on 23 August
According to the police, the YouTuber named Sagar Kundu went to make a reel with his friends on the wains on August 23. Kundu landed in the waterfall despite repeated warnings by his friends about the rising water level. The police, citing the video of the incident, which went viral on social media, said, “Suddenly the flow of water intensified due to the release of water from the Machakund dam. Kundu was swept away in the strong streams and the people at the scene tried to save him but they failed.”
YouTuber’s friend Abhijeet Behera said, “Kundu was pleading to save me with folded hands. He threw the camera and other equipment, but we could not save him.” Sagar’s father Sarthak Kundu requested the local administration to find his son.
YouTuber’s bag recovered
Machkund police station in -charge Inspector (IIC) Madhusudan Bhoi said that a team of Odisha disaster accelerated action force and a team of Lamotaput fire service personnel have started a search campaign. “We have so far recovered a bag full of batteries and other equipment, which YouTuber had thrown into water a few moments before it was swept away. The rescue operations have been challenging in the mountainous region due to bumpy and stony areas and frequent rains,” the IIC said.
One of the highest waterfalls in Odisha is Duduma
Fire fighting officer Umesh Chandra Bagh said, “We have requested the officials of Machkund Dam to close the doors of the reservoir. We will help us in the search campaign when the water level is low.” Duduma is one of the highest waterfalls in Odisha and a popular tourist destination located near Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.
