The Madhya Pradesh government approved the counseling fee to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the Ujjain-Indore-Pithampur Metro Rail Project. In the first phase, this line will be extended from Shri Mahakaleshwar Ujjain to Lavkush intersection, Indore and in the second phase from Lavkush Chauraha to Pithampur. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Council of Ministers (Cabinet) in the Ministry on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. According to the news, consultation work has been assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited at the rate of Rs 9 lakh per km (including GST).

Nearby suburbs will also be added

According to the news of ANI, Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the state’s metro project is not limited to Indore and Bhopal, but through it, the surrounding suburbs will also be added. He said that our metro project is very large, which is not only for Indore and Bhopal, but also to connect the surrounding areas. However, it may take 20 to 25 years to complete this entire network, but we have started work.

When will the metro start running from

The minister says that the survey of Indore-Ujjain and Indore-Pithampur route is going on. It is expected that in the next four to five years, the metro service from Pithampur to Ujjain can start via Indore. Along with this, the minister informed that there is a plan to start metro service from Indore to Dewas. If possible, the metro project from Indore to Dhar will also be increased. Traffic survey will be done for this and the metro will be further expanded in view of the possibilities.
