Landslide death figure in Vaishno Devi 32
The death toll in Landslide on the track of Vaishno Devi Dham in Katra, Jammu increased to 32 on Wednesday. The accident took place on Tuesday at 3 pm on the old track near the Indraprastha restaurant, some distance away from the Ardhkumari temple.
There were reports of 7 people dying till late last night, but the figure increased in the morning. Large stones, trees and debris have suffered more damage. One eyewitness told- big stones suddenly started falling and everything was destroyed.
The administration says that more than 23 people are injured. Many are missing. The death toll may increase further. At present, Vaishno Devi Yatra has been postponed due to heavy rains in this area.
On Tuesday, Jammu city received more than 250 mm of rain in less than 24 hours. This causes flood -like conditions in many places. Homes and fields are flooded.
Northern Railway has also canceled 22 trains running from Jammu-Katra and staying here today. Apart from this, 27 trains have been short terminated. However, the train service between Katra-Srinagar continues.

Another person told, ‘I was behind. 6 people who came with me were ahead of me. There were more than 100 more people ahead. I am still trembling. The people who came with me have not been known yet.
Another woman told, ‘We were going to Mata Rani’s court. We did not understand anything. Me and my husband survived but all three of my children were buried. Everything happened immediately. ‘
Kiran, a resident of Mohali, Punjab, said, ‘I was coming down from the mountain after seeing, then suddenly people started shouting. I saw stones falling. I somehow ran towards a safe place, but got injured. Kiran’s partner another woman said, “We five people were in a group, 3 of whom are injured.”
