136th Canton Fair concludes, number of foreign buyers exceeds 2.5 lakh

Beijing, November 5 (IANS). The 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) successfully concluded in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province. As of November 3, a total of 253,000 foreign buyers from 214 countries and regions attended the fair, up 2.8% from the previous session and setting a record high, surpassing the 2.5 million mark for the first time.

The export intended turnover of this Canton Fair was US$24 billion 95 million, an increase of 1% compared to the previous session.

More than half of the transactions took place in ‘Belt and Road’ co-building countries, with transactions in the traditional markets of Europe and the United States achieving growth. This year’s Canton Fair featured 11.5 million new products, 10.4 million green products and 11.1 million independent intellectual property products. Digital, intelligent and green products have excellent features and are favored by foreign buyers.

During the fair, 435 new product launch events were held, attracting approximately 3,500 buyers to participate offline. Apart from these, this Canton Fair successfully organized more than 860 trade promotion activities, setting a historical record. Additionally, a series of 348 ‘Trade Bridge’ events were organised, of which 334 supply and purchase docking activities attracted 763 buyers and 1,747 suppliers for ‘one-on-one’ docking negotiations, with the cumulative intended purchase amount Was more than 85 crore US dollars.

Let us tell you that the 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was held in Guangzhou in three phases from October 15 to November 4. After the offline exhibition is closed, the online platform will continue to operate normally. The 137th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from April 15 to May 5 next year.
