Man who made death threat to Salman Khan arrested in Karnataka
Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently received a death threat from an individual identified as Bikha Ram, who has now been arrested by the Haveri District Police in Karnataka. The arrest followed a coordinated effort between the Mumbai and Haveri police after the accused sent a threatening message to Mumbai’s traffic control room.
According to authorities, Bikha Ram, originally from Rajasthan, had been residing in Haveri for the past month and a half. He had taken up a job at a construction site and was living in a room with other labourers in the Goudar locality of Haveri. The Mumbai police, after receiving information about Bikha Ram’s whereabouts, alerted the Haveri police, leading to his swift apprehension.

The threat that prompted the investigation was directed at Salman Khan in the form of a message sent to the traffic control room in Mumbai’s Worli area. In the message, the sender, claiming to be a member of the Bishnoi community, demanded that the actor either visit their temple to apologize for the killing of a blackbuck or pay a ransom of 2 crore rupees.
The message further threatened that if Khan refused, he would be killed. The accused also identified himself as the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has previously been linked to similar threats against the actor.
Following the arrest, Bikha Ram was handed over to the Mumbai police for further questioning. Authorities are investigating the broader implications of the threat, including the potential involvement of criminal elements tied to the Bishnoi community and Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
The incident has raised concerns about the growing threat against high-profile celebrities, particularly in cases linked to organised crime. Salman Khan, who has faced previous threats from individuals claiming connections to the Bishnoi community, is yet to publicly comment on the latest development.
