Sriganganagar News Desk: Farmers started protesting at the SDM office on Wednesday demanding procurement of moong in Dhanmandi in Raisinghnagar of neighboring district Anupgarh. The procurement could begin after the events continued till afternoon. In this regard, an agreement was reached between the farmers and the subdivision administration on Tuesday night, but on Wednesday morning, the farmers became angry when the officials of the Purchase and Sale Cooperative Society did not purchase moong from the farmers and protested outside the SDM office.
Farmers protested outside the SDM office and said that moong should be purchased in Dhanmandi. Consensus was also reached in this regard but now the officials of the purchase and sale cooperative society are not buying moong from the farmers. When the farmers reached the SDM office under the leadership of District President of All India Kisan Sabha, Kalu Thori, Deputy Registrar Jaipal Godara was sent from the District Collector level. Godara negotiated and finally agreed to get the purchase done in Dhanmandi itself.
