Ranchi, 6 November (IANS). The election campaign of political parties is going on for the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections. Congress leader Rajiv Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav made major allegations against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference in Ranchi on Wednesday.
The Congress leader said during the press conference, “There is no bigger criminal than Himanta Biswa Sarma. Two cases were registered against him in the year 1991. He used to send Rs 10 lakh a month to ULFA and used to extort money. After this, he But a case under Arms Act was registered and illegal weapons were recovered from his house. Not only this, a TADA case was also registered against him. Apart from this, his name was also mentioned in the murder case of Manvendra Sharma.
He claimed that Himanta Biswa Sarma’s name had also appeared in Saradha scam. The allegation was that he had demanded money from the owner of Sharda Group. After this, CBI also interrogated him for four hours in the year 2014.
Speaking to the media at the Congress state office, the Congress leader said, “Jharkhand was ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party for almost 20 years, while the BJP government has been running at the Center under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the last 11 years. The BJP government is responsible for the infiltration.”
He further said that Himanta Biswa Sarma, who talked about Bangladeshi infiltration, has committed countless atrocities on the people of Bihar and Bengal in the name of Muslims in Assam. The central government and BJP have their eyes on the water, forests and land of Jharkhand. BJP only makes empty promises. ‘India’ block government will once again be formed in Jharkhand and under the leadership of Hemant Soren, work will be done to save the water, forests and land here.
