Drug peddler arrested in Kangra, gold, silver and cash recovered along with chits
Hospice.Police have arrested a drug peddler in Tarsuh under Kangra police station. The police raided the house of the said accused and recovered 26.10 grams of chitta and cash along with gold and silver jewelery worth lakhs. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Surendra Kumar, resident of Arla Dehra (Tarsuh), who is involved in this business for a long time. SP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri said that the police team under the leadership of SHO Kangra police station raided Pawan Kumar’s house in Tarsuh. During this time, police have recovered 26.10 grams of Chitta from Pawan Kumar’s house. Apart from this, the police have also recovered 241.7 grams of gold jewelery worth about Rs 20 lakh, 1 kg 207 gram silver jewelery and cash worth Rs 44 thousand 580 from the house of the accused. Apart from this, the police have also recovered the phone and Boeing machine of the accused. Police say that there is a possibility that the jewelery recovered from the house of the accused might have been made with the money of drug smuggling. Besides, the property documents and bank passbook of the accused have also been seized. SP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri said that accused Pawan Kumar is involved in drug smuggling business for the last 5 years. Earlier too, he has been getting bail due to the recovery of small quantity of chitta from his possession.
