A meeting of the High Power Purchase Committee (HPPC) was held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini in which contracts worth more than Rs 2050 crore were awarded for various infrastructure and development projects. Was approved. In this meeting, a total of 49 proposals were made to speed up the development plans of the state, out of which 45 have been given the green signal. The objective of the meeting is to strengthen basic facilities like health, water supply, sewerage and road construction.
Approval for construction of medical college
In the meeting, approval was given to the EPC contractor for the construction of Baba Sarsai Nath Government Medical College, Sirsa. The construction of this medical college will cost approximately Rs 832 crore and it is targeted to be completed in two years. After the approval of the medical college, there is hope for better health services in Sirsa. In the meeting, decisions were also taken on several important projects to promote water supply and sewerage management of Haryana. Various water and sewerage management projects costing about Rs 729 crore were also approved. These projects will make better efforts towards solving the problems of water management in the state.
Main focus on water projects
In the meeting, a water treatment plant (Water Treatment Plant Jind) of 60 MLD capacity was approved for Jind city which will cost Rs 90 crore. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 15 crore has been allocated for the development of canal based water supply scheme in 7 villages of Rewari district. Approval was also given for construction of rainwells at a cost of Rs 96.95 crore to augment water supply in Palwal and Nuhan districts.
11 major projects for Gurgaon
11 projects have been approved for Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority at a cost of Rs 250 crore. These include installation and commissioning of Centralized Integrated Water Management System at a cost of Rs 16.40 crore. Reconstruction, repair and improvement of roads in Gurgaon has been planned on 6 roads totaling 174 kilometres. Reconstruction of roads from Dwarka Expressway to IMT Manesar and Mehrauli Road from Delhi-Haryana Border to IFFCO Chowk has also been approved.
Bus Depot and Bus Queue Shelter
A bus depot for e-buses will be developed in Sector 48 of Gurgaon. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 37 crore has been allocated for the construction of bus queue shelters in various areas of Gurgaon. This will help in making the public transport system more accessible and convenient. Approval has been given to build 19.50 MLD capacity effluent treatment plant for industrial waste and sewage in Jagadhri-Yamunanagar. This project will help in controlling industrial pollution and will be an important step towards cleanliness in Haryana.
IT Infrastructure for Haryana Space Applications Center
The meeting also approved the procurement of 66 workstations of 128 GB RAM and 44 workstations of 256 GB RAM for Haryana Space Applications Centre. This step has been taken with the aim of strengthening the IT infrastructure in government institutions. Approval has also been given for the purchase of PP bags and jute bags for the crushing season 2024-25. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the smooth functioning of the Agriculture Department and agricultural activities.
