Former MP and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker Gopal Vyas passes away
Raipur, 07 November (Hindustan Reporter). Bharatiya Janata Party leader, former MP and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker Gopal Vyas passed away this morning in Raipur. He breathed his last at the age of 92. He was a member of Rajya Sabha from April 3, 2006 to April 2, 2012. He did important work for the BJP at the grassroots level. He raised many issues related to national interests in the Rajya Sabha.
Gopal Vyas struggled during the Emergency and was lodged in Raipur jail from 1975 to 1977. He was away from active politics since 2019, but his contribution in strengthening the organization was continuous. About a month ago, BJP National President JP Nadda had given him membership. During this, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was also present.
Gopal Vyas was born on February 15, 1932. His educational life was associated with Jabalpur Engineering College and he lived with his family in MLA Colony of the capital Raipur. His demise is an irreparable loss for BJP and Sangh Parivar.
The Chief Minister has expressed grief over his demise. He has said in his condolence message that the news of the demise of our senior and former Rajya Sabha member Shri Gopal Vyas ji is extremely sad. He was a volunteer of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a senior member of the BJP family. Apart from this, as a democracy fighter, he also remained MISAbandhi from 1975-1977. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and provide strength to the bereaved family and well-wishers.
