New Delhi. Relations between India and Canada are deteriorating day by day. The Consulate General of India in Toronto has canceled some consular camps in Canada due to lack of security. The Indian Embassy said that Canadian security agencies were unable to provide minimum security to the organizers, due to which the decision to cancel the event was taken.
The move came days after protesters carrying Khalistani flags attacked an event organized by the Indian Consulate in Brampton. The protesters disrupted the program and assaulted people.
Along with this, Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison gave a controversial statement regarding action against Sikh separatists, creating further tension between India and Canada.
Meaning of Trump’s victory for India
Morrison claimed, without providing any evidence, that Amit Shah had ordered violence and intelligence gathering against Sikh separatists in Canada, to which India strongly protested and summoned the Canadian official.
