Again, Bharat brand launched; flour will be available at Rs 30 per kg; rice prices to be Rs 34 per kg.
The central government takes big initiatives for people. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday launched the second phase of the sale of ‘Bharat Atta’ and ‘Bharat Rice’. The initiative is aimed at providing quality rice and flour to consumers at affordable rates, the minister said. This scheme was started under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, and now its second phase has started.
What is ‘Bharat’ brand scheme?
The Indian government had last year planned to provide rice and flour under the ‘Bharat’ brand at affordable rates. Under this, consumers will get rice at the rate of Rs 34 per kg and flour at the rate of Rs 30 per kg. The move is especially beneficial for those who are deprived of cheap flour and rice due to high rates.
Government’s priority to provide rations at cheaper rates
Talking to the media about this scheme, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that this initiative has been taken to increase the food affordability of consumers under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He also informed me that under this scheme, flour and rice will be distributed at both retail and wholesale levels. It will be ensured that any consumer can take advantage of these affordable prices.
The free ration scheme also has a big contribution
The Union Minister also informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY), the government is giving free rations to 81.3 crore beneficiaries, including rice and wheat. Apart from this, the government is also doing good to farmers by purchasing wheat and rice at MSP (Minimum Support Price). The minister also informed that the minimum price of rice in the market is Rs 43 per kg, but under the Bharat brand it will be available at Rs 34 per kg.
