The girl, the victim of Delhi’s Nirbhaya case-2, had come to Delhi with big dreams. But something happened to her in Delhi that she can never forget. The young woman, a Master in Social Work degree holder, left her nursing job and dedicated her life to social service, especially for the poor, women and marginalized communities. She came to Delhi to realize her passion for social work and look for a new opportunity. The victim has worked in the social sector for eight years.
According to Orissa Police officials, the girl, a researcher, facilitator and community leader, had obtained BA in Arts in 2007-2010, Auxiliary Nursing Midwives in 2009-2011 and Master in Social Work in 2011-2013.
The victim lived with nuns in Nebsarai. Here some balance got disturbed so she came on the road in July. Wandering on the streets of Delhi, she reached Old Delhi Railway Station. Stayed here in the waiting room for about one and a half months. On the night of 10th and 11th October, the girl left the Old Delhi Police Railway Station and reached ITO at around 9 pm.
Here the accused Pramod and Shamshul were dragging him into the bushes in the dark near the metro station. Auto driver Prabhu saw him. After that all three brutalized him and scratched his body. The brutality of the accused did not end here. Auto driver Prabhu put him in the auto and took him to Ring Road and service road behind Firozshah Kotla Fort. Here he raped and brutalized the girl several times in the auto. After this the accused left her in a semi-nude state.
Vasant Vihar Nirbhaya case repeated again in Delhi. A girl working for women and the poor at ITO, a few meters away from the old headquarters of Delhi Police, was gang-raped by three criminals. After that the auto driver took her to Gandhi Smriti service road near Rajghat and raped her in the auto. The girl’s mental balance deteriorated due to repeated rape. This girl (34) from Odisha reached Sarai Kalekhan while walking from Rajghat in a semi-nude state. Blood kept flowing from the girl’s private parts, but none of the thousands of vehicles passing by on the Ring Road took pity on her. This incident took place around 9.30 pm on the night of 10th and 11th October.
Seeing the girl at Sarai Kalekhan, a Navy officer informed the police. Delhi Police officials said that if the Navy officers had not informed the police, the girl could have died. The girl’s private parts were operated on in AIIMS.
Due to severe shock, the girl is currently admitted in the psychiatric department of AIIMS. After about 21 days of hard work, the South-East District Police has arrested three accused, auto driver Prabhu, scrap shop worker Pramod and Shamshul Lagada.
South-East District Police Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar Singh has confirmed the arrest of the accused. After the arrest of the accused, the brutality inflicted on the victim girl has come to light. To catch the accused, female constable Sangeeta met the victim posing as a social worker. After that the victim narrated the brutality that happened to her.
ACP Aishwarya Singh had made it her aim to provide justice to the victim. Police have recovered the blood-stained salwar of the victim from the service road of Gandhi Memorial. The auto of accused Prabhu has also been recovered.
The girl was called to Delhi by a friend to get her a good job. There the partner started bearing the expenses and the girl started becoming burdensome for him. After that the girl stayed with nuns in Kishangarh police station area. Here some of his mental balance got disturbed. Then she came on the road. A nun reported this in Kishangarh police station. It is being told that the family members in Odisha were informed. The family came to Delhi to take her but she did not go.
