Fans are concerned about Shah Rukh Khan’s safety after the renowned actor recently received a death threat. It is being speculated that, in the wake of this shocking turn of events, he skipped his traditional appearance on Mannat’s balcony on his birthday.
New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 59 years old on Saturday (November 2, 2024), celebrated the special occasion with his fans at a special event in Mumbai. However, he skipped his traditional appearance on the balcony of Mannat to greet his admirers who gather outside his residence every year. Meanwhile, the renowned actor received a death threat along with a demand for Rs 50 lakh.
Following this shocking turn of events, many are speculating that the Baadshah of Bollywood refrained from his balcony appearance on his birthday due to concerns over the death threat. Netizens are even calling it the best decision as his safety should take priority over anything else.
Extortion case filed
In relation to the matter, a lawyer from Raipur has reportedly been summoned by the Mumbai police as the threat call was made from a phone number registered in his name. However, the person in question has informed the authorities that he lost his phone last week and had already filed a police complaint.
The Bandra police have registered a case under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Teams have been dispatched to various locations for further investigation.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh was quoted by PTI as saying that a man identified as Faizan Khan has been summoned as part of the investigation into the threat to Shah Rukh. He has been asked to join the probe for further questioning.
It is to be noted that the threat to SRK follows a series of threats issued to fellow star Salman Khan, allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The matter is currently under investigation.
