This means that you will be charged toll for the distance you travel on the highway.

India currently has a national highway network of about 1.5 lakh kilometers, out of which toll tax is collected on about 50 thousand kilometers. The central government has decided to implement this new technology in a phased manner. By June 2025, GNSS system will be implemented on 2 thousand kilometers. There is a plan to increase it to 50 thousand kilometers in the next two years. This will not only save petrol, diesel and CNG but will also save time for the drivers.
