Australian Business Minister Don Fareel
Australia Reply to Dnald Trump: Australia’s Trade Minister Don Paarel dismissed US President Donald Trump’s ‘Dead Economy’ sarcasm on India, saying that his country sees India as a nation full of ‘magnificent opportunities’. According to the Indian Express report, Don Paarel said that Australia is against Tariff, whether it is on Australia or India. He said this a day after Foreign Minister Penny Wong criticized Trump’s unprecedented 50 percent tariff on Indian goods.
‘Faith is in free and fair business’
Minister Don Paarel said that we are a country that believes in free and fair trade. We believe that the best way to ensure prosperity is to continue free, fair and open business. We do not support the imposition of tariffs on Australia or India. He insisted, protectionism is not a way. It is free and fair trade. Amidst tension in Indo-US trade relations, Fareel also called for intensive economic connection with New Delhi.
‘Australia is keen to increase investment in India’
Paarel told reporters, “Australia is keen to increase investment in India. Like Australia, India is also a rich democracy and we want to work closely with countries like India to promote our bilateral trade and investment. We see immense opportunities in India.”
