‘The guilty should be brought to the dock without delayed justice’

Tokyo: PM Narendra Modi and his Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba condemned the “clear and strict” of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He called for concrete action against all terrorist groups and institutions listed by the United Nations including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and his colleagues. Also said that the culprits of this heinous act should be brought to the dock soon without any delay. This was said in a joint statement issued after the summit between the two leaders.

Condemnation of strict words

The two Prime Ministers called for funding of terrorists, ending their alliances with international crime and stopping the movement of terrorists. He strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025 and took cognizance of the report of the United Nations Security Council Monitoring Team on 29 July, mentioning TRF.

Call to bring guilty in the dock of justice

Prime Minister Modi further said that TRF has taken responsibility for the attack. Prime Minister Ishiba expressed concern over this. He called upon the criminals, organizers and financers of this condemnable act to be brought to the dock without any delay. The two leaders also reiterated that it is very important to destroy the safe bases of terrorists, eliminate terrorist funding channels, and break the network between terrorism and international crime.

Call to uproot terrorists bases

Prime Minister Ishiba called for strict action to take concrete action against all terrorist groups and institutions listed in all United Nations including Al Qaeda, ISIS, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and his supporters.

Invited to come to India

Prime Minister Modi also invited Prime Minister Ishiba to come to India on the occasion of the Quad Leaders Summit to be held later this year. Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day official visit to Japan from 29 to 30 August, where he attended the 15th India-Japan annual summit. After his visit to Japan, Prime Minister Tianjin will leave for China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
