Three wheels of Puri Rath Yatra will be installed in the Parliament complex. The Shri Jagannath temple administration confirmed this on Saturday. The temple committee said that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recently visited a Puri tour. This proposal was given to him on behalf of the temple committee, which he has accepted.

These three wheels will be extracted from the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra and Balabhadra. The chariot of Lord Jagannath is called Nandighosh, Goddess Subhadra’s chariot is called Darpadalan and Lord Balabhadra’s chariot is called Taldhwaj.

One wheel of these three chariots will be sent to Delhi. They will be established in Parliament as a permanent symbol of the culture and heritage of Odisha.

After the wheel of the Rath Yatra in Parliament, it will be the second symbol associated with the culture established in the campus. Two years ago, the Lok Sabha was installed in the Lok Sabha. In May 2023 Parliament was established by PM Modi next to the speaker’s chair in Parliament.

Sangar, also known as the silver, was assigned by the British to Pt. Nehru on the night of 14 August 1947. Prior to 1960 it was placed in Anand Bhavan and then in Allahabad Museum since 1978. 75 years later, the scepter entered Parliament.

Now the wheels of Puri’s chariot will be installed in the Parliament complex

Which wheels of the Puri Rath Yatra will be installed in the Parliament complex, the information has not been revealed at the moment. The rath yatra was taken out on 27 June this year. After the Rath Yatra, the three chariots are separated every year. According to Bijay Mahapatra, the main carpenter of Nandighosh Rath, new wood is used every year, except for some major parts.

The separated chariot parts are placed in the warehouse and some of them, including the wheels, are auctioned. Every year, 45 feet high three chariots prepare more than 200 people in just 58 days.

These chariots are made completely with hands with 5 types of special wood. No scale is used to measure wood, but a chariot weighing more than 45 feet high and more than 200 tons is prepared by measuring from a stick itself.
