After this, now Prem Sagar, son of ‘Ramayana’ producer Ramanand Sagar, passed away. On August 30, 2025, Prem Sagar has said goodbye to this world. He breathed his last at 10 am today. The death of well-known producer Prem Sagar has led to mourning in the entertainment world. His name was taken in the industry with great respect. He was a veteran of the entertainment world who would always be remembered for his significant contribution.

The last rites of Senior Producer and Cinematographer Prem Sagar will be performed today at the Pawanhans crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. He was ill for some time and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. On Sunday, doctors advised him to take him home. Sunil Lahiri, who plays Laxman in ‘Ramayana’, has expressed grief over his death. On Instagram Story, Sunil wrote, ‘While sharing this sad news, I am saddened by Ramanand Sagar ji’s son Prem Sagar Ji went to the hereafter. May God give peace to his soul and give the family the power to endure this grief. ‘

Hit career of love ocean

Prem Sagar took training from Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He was a 1968 batch student. During this, he also learned photography and cinematography. Prem Sagar worked for a long time under the Sagar Arts banner. The production house was started by his father Ramanand Sagar, who was known for making the TV series ‘Ramayana’. ‘Ramayana’ first came on Doordarshan in 1987.

Prem Sagar became famous for religious projects

Prem Sagar was the director of the TV series ‘Alif Laila’. Apart from this, he also created religious projects like ‘Kakbhushundi Ramayana’ and ‘Kamadhenu Gaumata’. As a producer, he also did projects like ‘Hum Tere Aashiq Hai’, ‘Basera’ and ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’. Not only this, he was also the cinematographer of many films, including the ‘Charas’ of 1976.
