Commercial gas cylinders have been drastically cut. Oil marketing companies have amended the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders, cutting the price of 19 kg LPG gas cylinder by Rs 51.50. The new prices will be effective from September 1. Now the retail price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1580. However, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder. Last month, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were cut by Rs 24.

Cuts in commercial cylinder prices will provide relief to restaurants, hotels and other commercial installations, which are highly dependent on 19 kg LPG cylinders for their daily tasks. Commercial LPG gas prices have been cut for the fourth consecutive month. In early May, public sector oil companies cut the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 14.50. Earlier, on 1 April, prices were cut by Rs 41 per cylinder.

No change in the price of LPG domestic cylinder

There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinder. In March, the BJP -led central government increased the price of domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 50, which was stated to be a jump in global crude oil prices after the announcement of tariff by US President Donald Trump. Due to local taxes and transport charges, LPG prices vary in different states. Although this cut is minor, it provides some financial relief to businesses across the country.

Prices are fixed every month

It is worth noting that government oil companies, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), amends aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and LPG prices on the first date of every month. These amendments are based on average international benchmark fuel prices and foreign exchange rate fluctuations.
