Is a Karan Arjun sequel in the works? Director Rakesh Roshan recently opened up about the same and also revealed the names of two actors who could replace Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in a potential remake. Read further to know more.

New Delhi: Karan Arjun, released in 1995, is undeniably one of the most iconic films in Bollywood. The fantasy-action masala film worked wonders at the Box Office and emerged as an all-time blockbuster. Now, it is all set for a magnificent re-release. Amid all the buzz, talks of a remake or sequel of the Rakesh Roshan directorial have often emerged on social media. But is it really a possibility? Let’s hear it straight from the source.

In a conversation with ETimes, the 75-year-old filmmaker revealed that he has no plans to remake Karan Arjun or go ahead with a sequel. However, if he were to think of an alternate duo for the film today, he has two names in mind. Rakesh mentioned that he would cast Hrithik Roshan as Karan and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun. Now, that would be an ideal modern-day cast. If Rakesh’s vision materialises somewhere down the line, the film will undoubtedly attract massive footfalls to theatres.

Superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan played the titular characters in Karan Arjun. The film also featured Raakhee Gulzar, Mamta Kulkarni, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever, Arjun, Jack Gaud, Ranjeet and Aasif Sheikh in pivotal roles. The storyline of the flick revolved around two brothers who reincarnate separately but eventually reunite to seek revenge on their uncle.
