According to Drik Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi of Margashirsha month Krishna Paksha will start on 26 November 2024 at 01:01 am and will end the next day on 27 November 2024 at 03:47 am. Therefore, according to Udayatithi, Utpanna Ekadashi will be celebrated on 26th November.
Why is Utpanna Ekadashi special?
According to mythology, Devi Ekadashi originated from the body of Lord Vishnu. Vishnuji was sleeping in Yoga Nidra, the demon Mur was about to attack him, at the same time a goddess with divine form appeared from Vishnuji’s body. He had killed the demon Mur in the war.
Being pleased with this, he named the goddess Ekadashi and gave a boon that by worshiping goddess Ekadashi, happiness and good fortune would increase. Therefore, on the day of Utpanna Ekadashi, worshiping Goddess Ekadashi along with Lord Shri Hari Vishnu is considered important. It is said that by fasting and worshiping on this day, a person attains all happiness and salvation.
