The match was played on 19 February 2016 at Khan Saheb Usman Ali Stadium of Fatullah, in which Oman won the toss and decided to bat.

Oman scored 180 runs losing five wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. The team was given a fast start by the opening pair of Zeeshan Masood and Jatinder Singh.

Both batsmen added 34 runs in 4.1 overs. Zeeshan returned to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs in 13 balls with the help of a six and a four.

After this, Jatinder Singh shared a 41 -run partnership for the second wicket with Vaibhav Wategaonkar, bringing the team in a strong position.

Jatinder Singh scored 42 runs in 35 balls, while Vaibhav was dismissed for 14 runs. Apart from these, Aamir Ali contributed 32, while Mehran Khan contributed 28 runs to the team’s account. Nadeem Ahmad hunted the most three victims from the opposition camp.

Hong Kong’s team, chasing the huge target, had lost the wicket of Khidi Shah (0) for just five runs. Babur Hayat took the front from here. He tried to handle the team by adding 58 runs for the second wicket with Anshuman Rath.

Anshuman was dismissed by just 11 runs, after which the wickets fell at continuous intervals. However, Babur Hayat stayed at the other end.

Hayat scored 122 runs in 60 balls with the help of seven sixes and nine fours, but could not win the team. Hong Kong could score 175 runs after losing seven wickets in the scheduled overs. Oman won by five runs.
