BJP hits back at Congress's attack on Adani, says law will take its course

New Delhi, 21 November (Hindustan Reporter). Industrialist Gautam Adani is surrounded by allegations of fraud and bribery in America. In this matter, Congress has tried to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the pretext of Adani. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit back at Congress’ attacks and said that the company itself will defend itself by issuing a statement and the law will take its course.

In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters on Thursday, BJP MP Sambit Patra said that since this morning we are seeing an issue related to a company in the media. There is a case against that company in America. Allegations and counter-allegations are going on. We clearly believe that as far as the company and the case against it are concerned, the company itself will defend itself by issuing a statement. The law will take its course.

Patra said that today once again Rahul Gandhi held a press conference. He again showed his same behavior and kept things the same way as he has been doing. There was nothing new in the press conference. They have some names, methods using which they hold press conferences and try to blame BJP and Prime Minister Modi. In 2019, Rahul Gandhi had also come out in a similar manner on the Rafale issue. He had claimed that there would be a big revelation. Even during the Covid pandemic, he used to hold press conferences in a similar manner regarding the vaccine. However, later he had to apologize to the Supreme Court. This is not Rahul Gandhi’s first attempt to undermine the credibility of Prime Minister Modi.

He said that the whole matter is about agreements on power purchase and State Distribution Companies (SDC). The distribution of electricity between the US and India is done by two companies – an Indian and an American company. The names of four Indian states appeared in the US court. This matter is between July 2021 and February 2022. At that time the Congress government led by Bhupesh Baghel was in power in Chhattisgarh. At that time there was YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh. There was a DMK government in Tamil Nadu and a BJD government in Odisha. Therefore, the 4 states named in the document neither had a BJP Chief Minister nor a government supported by us. In all of them there were governments of Congress and its allies. Rahul Gandhi said that he has no objection if any of his former ministers or leaders are questioned.
