Hyderabad: Opposition coalition ‘India’ candidate B.B. Sudarshan Reddy, his rival and ruling NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan has a scathing attack. Addressing a press conference on Monday, he alleged that Radhakrishnan was neither visible nor speaking. He said that if he had spoken, a healthy debate would have been possible.

“My opponents are not visible”

Former Judge Sudarshan Reddy said, “My opponents are not visible. He does not speak. I do not know where he is, what are they doing. If both the candidates are doing. If both will speak, there will be a debate, there will be a conversation. There will be a chance to introduce people. There will be a chance to introduce people. There will be a chance to introduce people. Not just voters. I did not get that chance.”

When asked to explain the comment in detail, Sudarshan Reddy said that he made this comment from the point of view that if Radhakrishnan had also spoken, there would have been a healthy conversation. Asked what is the biggest constitutional challenge before India under the current circumstances, Reddy said that the most serious challenge before the Constitution is the great constitutional body- the “flaw” in the functioning of the Election Commission of India. He said, “If this continues, then democracy in this country will be in danger. This is what I believe.”

“Now I am the candidate of opposition parties”

Explaining the remarks of Chief Minister Reddy’s comment on the ‘India’ alliance candidate as a candidate, Sudarshan Reddy said that he is now “candidate of opposition parties”. He said that he also has the support of parties like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who are not involved in the ‘India’ alliance. Former Supreme Court Judge Sudarshan Reddy said that contesting for the post of Vice President is part of his 53 -year long journey with the Constitution. He said that the election for the post of Vice President will be one of the most fair and decent elections fought so far in India’s recent history.

He said, “Our country is not majority. Our society is multilingual, multicultural and multi -religious. The Constitution does not give strength to anyone. The work of the Constitution is to limit your power.” On accepting the proposal to contest elections for the post of Vice President, he said that at a time when the constitution and democratic systems in the country are losing their glow, it is not only his, but the duty of every citizen.
