Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi being elected for the third consecutive time shows confidence of people in his leadership. Vaishnaw said while he was speaking at the News9 Global Summit in Germany’s Stuttgart.
Ashwini Vaishnaw said the government of PM Modi is committed to democracy and sustainable development.
New Delhi: Union Minister for Railways, I&B, Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading a government that is invested in people and a clear focus on development. Vaishnaw said this while speaking during the 3-day News9 Global summit in Germany’s Stuttgart.
“The government of PM Modi is committed to democracy and sustainable development. As we stand today, we are living in one of the most transformative world. The world has seen three major events…the 2020 pandemic and two geopolitical conflicts (Middle East war and Russia Ukraine),” Vaishnaw said during the address.

People’s confidence in PM Modi
Vaishnaw also said that PM Modi being elected by the people for the third consecutive time shows their confidence in his leadership. “India voted for stability and continuity.. when PM Modi took over 10 years back, India was 10th largest economy….public confidence in the govt was low…we are now the 5th largest economy in the world and will soon become the third largest,” the Union Minister added.
Delving into successful completion of Lok Sabha election 2024, Vaishnaw said, “We had elections 6 months ago in which 968 million voters participated. There were 758 political parties and over one million poll booths. The pace of digitalisation of elections was such that the results were out in just 5 hour for such a massive exercise. Our ruling coalition BJP was reelected for third time consecutively…it happened once in 6 decades in India.”
Vaishnaw ended his speech by inviting the German industry leaders to visit India and experience the Indian transformation. In a lighter vein, he also talked about the popularity of ‘Mango Lassi’ in Germany.

The central theme of Union Minister for Railways, I&B, Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw’s session was ‘India & Germany: A Roadmap For Sustainable Growth’. The session was aimed to draw up a blueprint for Indo-German cooperation on various issues that not only focus on a new future India and Germany, but also in shaping their role in the emerging world order.
The News9 Global Summit in Germany’s Stuttgart will continue for three days from November 21-23 at the iconic MHP Arena. This mega event is one-of-its kind thought leadership summit focusing on sustainable development.

‘India and Germany have shared values’
“Certainly, there are many points where the interests of both the countries converge and we have shared values and I am sure there will be a good journey ahead. Today, I visited the control centre of Deutsche Bank and travelled by train. I think there are lot many things in terms of semiconductor manufacturing, we had good discussions with Infineon and there are lot more things we can do together,” said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
PM Modi’s keynote address key feature of summit
