Gurugram: Wheels of moving goods train suddenly derailed; Rail traffic affected for two hours
Two coaches of a goods train coming from Delhi towards Gurgaon derailed ahead of Bijwasan railway station. Due to this, rail traffic on Gurgaon Delhi railway track was affected. More than six trains were affected by this incident and passengers remained troubled at other stations including Gurgaon, Garhi Harsaru, Rewari.
It is said that a goods train was coming from Delhi towards Gurgaon railway station at eight o’clock on Wednesday night. Two coaches of the train suddenly derailed ahead of Bijwasan. The loco pilot immediately informed the railway officials.
After this, many trains passing through the track were stopped at nearby stations. Using a crane, the goods of those two coaches were first unloaded from the goods train and then the train was mounted on the track and sent forward.
After about two hours, the track was cleared and the trains could be moved ahead. This incident caused a lot of trouble to the passengers. Due to track disruption, Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express and Delhi Rewari Passenger train reached Gurgaon railway station late by one and a half to two hours.
Railway officials said that the cause of the incident is being investigated and necessary action will be taken. He said that Railways is committed to the safety and convenience of passengers.
