Prasar Bharati has launched a brand-new streaming app for ‘family freindly’ content. With a diverse range of conent, the app promises to deliver education and enetertainment to its audience. From Waves OTT subscription plans to content offerings, here is everything you need to know.

New Delhi: Prasar Bharati, India’s national public broadcaster, has launched a brand new digital streaming platform, Waves, for ‘family-friendly’ content. Launched by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the 55th International Film Festival of India, the app promises to deliver iconic shows, new films, educational programs and more.

In addition to this, Waves provides pan-Indian content in 12 languages including English, Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil among others. Waves OTT will also offer exclusive student film screenings and award-winning films. If you are intrigued by this proposal, then note that this content is not free. That’s right, the makers provide viewers with different tiers of subscription plans. Waves OTT app – subscription plans

The Waves OTT app offers three subscription tiers for its audience. The cheapest plan stands at Rs 30 per month. The Waves gold plan will allow the viewers to stream the selected content, including live TV and radio access, in standard definition on one device at a time. If you wish to share this account, then the next plan, that allows streaming on two devices at once might be the right pick for you. The Diamond plan costs Rs 350 per year for providing high-definition content, live TV, movies, and radio. Following this, the Platinum Waves subscription will cost you Rs 999 per year and will provide ultra high-definition content and access to all the content available on the app. The Platinum plan will allow streaming on up to four devices at once.

As for the content, Prasar Bharati’s app offers 65 live TV channels providing varying content such as news, music, entertainment and sports. In addition to this, one of the main features of the app is video-on-demand (VOD) which will give viewers access to a variety of hand-picked movies and TV shows. Other content offerings include free gaming, radio streaming, integration with an open network for digital commerce (ONDC) for online shopping, photo galleries, and e-books on historic milestones and national legends.

The Waves OTT app has classic TV shows like Fauji 2.0, Kicking Balls, and Monkey King: The Hero is Back. Additionally, the Waves OTT app will also stream events such as the monthly Mann Ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US Premier League cricket tournament.

Waves OTT app – how to download?

Those who wish to download the Prasar Bharati OTT app, Waves, on their phones will be able to do so from the Google Play Store for Android users while iOS users can find the app on the Apple App Store. It is to be noted that the app does not allow payments yet. So, users will be redirected to their mobile browser or Waves.pb on their desktop to make payments.
