Odisha Police’s ‘Operation Investigation’, 358 children missing in 5 days and 2059 women discovered

The Odisha police rescued 1,209 missing children and 6,667 missing women, including 1,078 girls, and 6,667 missing women, as part of special operations conducted to locate the missing people in 2025.

According to officials, 358 missing children and 2,059 women were detected alone during the special operation ‘Operation Investigation’ in Odisha from 18 to 22 August. Puri police got the most success in this campaign, where 45 children and 504 women were rescued. After this, the Bhadrak police discovered 37 children and 318 women, and the Cuttack Police discovered 21 children and 304 women.

Impact of year -long campaigns

In addition to August, police said that similar special campaigns were carried out in February, April and May.

  1. February: 139 children and 593 women were rescued.
  2. April: 421 children and 3,073 women were detected.
  3. May (19-22 May): 291 children and 942 women were rescued.

BJP will celebrate ‘Seva Paksha’ to commemorate the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday

In another news, the Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced several programs for the ‘Seva Paksha’ (a fortnight) starting on September 17 to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. A senior leader said that the party has decided to organize free health camps, blood donation camps, cleanliness campaign and plantation program between October 2 from the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision was taken at the preparation seminar for the ‘Seva Paksha’ organized under the chairmanship of BJP state unit president Manmohan Samal and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The party’s state general secretary Jatin Mohanty told reporters, “BJP’s Odisha unit will celebrate fortnightly to celebrate Prime Minister Modi’s 75th birthday. This fortnight will be celebrated from 17 September to 2 October from Gandhi Jayanti.” Mohanty said that in this fortnight, BJP workers will organize free health camps, blood donation camps, cleanliness campaign, plantation and other programs at all levels. He said that an exhibition will be organized on the life of Prime Minister Modi and films will be shown. Mohanty said that on 25 September, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay will also be celebrated at the state, district and booth levels. (input language)
