He died last month this year at the age of 82 and could not celebrate his 83rd birthday on 22 November. That means this time his birthday has been without him for the first time. Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai village of Etawah district in the farmer family of Murti Devi and Sughar Singh Yadav, whose fourth child he was. He graduated from Etawah in Political Science and has a BT degree from Shikohabad and MA from Agra University.

In 2003, he once again got a chance to enter the government when the BJP-BSP alliance broke and Mulayam Singh Yadav formed the government with some BSP MLAs. But apart from this, he was a seven-time MP from Uttar Pradesh and in 1996, he also held the post of Defense Minister of the country.
