Heavy rain alert in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi. The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert indicating the possibility of a cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal. This cyclone may develop into a low pressure area in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal around November 23. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in the next few days.

According to IMD, the cyclonic circulation is active near Sumatra coast and South Andaman Sea. This system will move towards west-northwest direction and may take the form of a depression in South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours. Additionally, another cyclonic circulation has been observed over lower tropospheric levels over Comorin area and surroundings, which will affect the weather over southern India.

Due to rain, a flood like situation has already arisen in Tamil Nadu. Especially in Thoothukudi district, urban areas like Rajagopal Nagar, Pushpa Nagar, and Postal Telegram Colony were inundated. People are worried due to water entering their houses. North-East Monsoon: This monsoon, which started in October, has brought heavy rains to the northern and delta districts of Tamil Nadu like Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram. Roads have been submerged in districts like Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, and Mayiladuthurai.
