Hyundai Creta EV, new generation Duster, Kia Sciros and Maruti E Vitara to be launched in India next year

The automotive market in India is expanding rapidly and in line with it, car manufacturers are actively working to introduce new cars. Many new models are ready for launch next year. Here we are giving information about the brand new top-5 cars coming next year.

1. Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is all set to launch the Creta EV in the Indian market early next year, possibly with an entry at the 2025 Auto Expo. Spotted testing on Indian roads several times, the design of the electric Creta will be shared with the latest facelift model, though it will include EV-specific touches like a blanked-off front grille, EV badging and aero-efficient alloy wheels.

A 45 kWh battery pack will be used in it, which will give power of 138 bhp and peak torque of 255 Nm. This setup is completely different from the base-spec version of the latest generation Kona EV sold in the international markets.

2. Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara

Suzuki E Vitara recently made its global debut and will be launched in the Indian market next year i.e. March 2025. This will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car in the country and the global model will be manufactured at Suzuki’s facility in Gujarat. The EV will be 4,275 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

Internally codenamed YY8, the E Vitara is based on an all-new born-electric skateboard platform, the Heartect-E (codename: 40PL). There will be two battery packs on offer, i.e. a 49kWh and a 61kWh unit, with a power output of up to 184 bhp and a peak torque of 300 Nm in the AWD variant.

3. New Generation Renault Duster

Scheduled for launch in the second half of 2025, a test model of the new generation Duster was recently spotted testing in India for the first time. The design of the new Duster will be similar to the international spec model, which has already been revealed. In terms of dimensions, the third generation model will be 4.34 meters long with 209 mm ground clearance.

Based on the CMF-B platform, the upcoming Renault SUV will get a turbo petrol mild hybrid engine producing 130 bhp and there is also likely to be a strong hybrid powertrain option for the India-spec model. The AWD system will also be available as an option with the new Duster.

4. Kia Sciros

Kia has confirmed the Sciros name for its upcoming SUV, which will be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos in the portfolio. Its sales are expected to start early next year. The Korean carmaker recently shared teaser images of the Sciros, revealing its silhouette.

In terms of design, the Sciros will sport a boxy design language with stacked LED DRLs, a large window line and LED tail lamps that wrap around the rear windshield, functional roof rails and flush-fitting door handles. The upcoming Kia Sciros will get both ICE and electric powertrains, mated to a front-wheel-drive setup.

5. Tata Harrier EV

The Tata Harrier EV has been in the testing phase for a long time and has already been showcased as a prototype on several occasions. The electric version of Harrier is going to be launched in India next year. The Harrier EV will be based on a heavily modified electric-specific version of the existing Omega-Arc platform.

The SUV is expected to have a 60 kWh battery pack, which will be capable of delivering a range of around 500 kilometers. In terms of design, it will be quite familiar to the existing Harrier. However, it will have some electric-specific elements inside and out. Dual-motor AWD setup will also be available in it as an option.
