One and a half kilo opium recovered from Daltonganj railway station of Palamu, three including woman arrested
Palamu. Railway Protection Force (RPF) Post Garhwa has recovered opium from Daltonganj railway station on Friday morning before it was taken to Chandigarh in Punjab. Also, three accused have been arrested from the spot. The weight of the recovered opium is one and a half kilos, whose government value is Rs 7.5 lakh. The arrested accused have been identified as Gyanati Devi (55), Nagendra Paswan (26) and Virendra Sahu (40), residents of Goindi village of Tarhasi police station area of Palamu district. It has been told that a woman and two men were found in suspicious condition at Daltonganj railway station and they were interrogated. Later, after searching the goods, one and a half kilos of opium was recovered from them. According to RPF, the three smugglers would take a passenger train from Daltonganj railway station to Dehri and from there to Varanasi. Then we would leave for Chandigarh. Opium was to be delivered in Chandigarh. All three are opium handlers. Who had given him opium? Research was being done to find out who was to give opium in Chandigarh. During interrogation, the accused told that these people had delivered the opium consignment to Chandigarh even before Chhath. Nagendra was arrested three years ago while smuggling opium in Haryana. Came to the village a year ago. After coming here, he again got involved in this business.
