The country’s first made in India chip will be known as ‘Vikram’, sent to PM Modi
Semicon india 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘Seemicon India 2025’ conference in Delhi. This 3 -day conference will be focused on furthering a strong, strong and durable semiconductor environment in India. On this special occasion, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented the first chip made in India to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The country’s first Made in India Chip is named Vikram. Vikram is a 32-bit microprocessor, created by India’s Space Agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization).
Vikram will work with full capacity even in poor conditions
The complete construction of Vikram Chip built in ISRO’s Semiconductor Lab has been built in India itself. This chip is fully eligible to use in extreme conditions of space launch vehicles. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this chip is capable of working with its full potential even in poor conditions. Apart from Vikram Chip, Ashwini Vaishnav presented many other chips, which are being made by different companies. These are other chips, test chips of 4 projects that have received approval.
21st century power is in small chip
PM Modi said many important things while addressing Seemicon India on Tuesday. He said that the world trusts India. The world is ready to make the future of semiconductor with India. PM Modi said that India is continuously moving forward in the semiconductor sector and is sure to become the world’s third largest economy in the world. The PM said that the power of the 21st century is in a small chip.
Investment of Rs 1.5 lakh crore is being made in 10 projects
The PM said in his address, “In the year 2021, we started the Semcon India program. By the year 2023, India’s first semiconductor plant was approved. In 2024, we approved additional plants. In 2025, we approved five additional projects. Overall, more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore is being invested in the world in India.
