The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Dehradun, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts. These districts have been raining continuously for the last several days.

Most of the rivers in the state are in spate. The water level of several rivers, including Ganga and its tributaries like Mandakini and Alaknanda, has gone above the danger mark. Schools and Anganwadi centers from first to 12th grade were closed on Tuesday in many districts including Dehradun.

When will the monsoon go back?

The people of the state have become difficult for the people of the state. The situation is such that now people are praying to God to stop the rain. However, the monsoon farewell to Uttarakhand will have to wait till 15 September. Meteorological Director CS Tomar says that the monsoon will continue till September 15. By September 15, the mood of the season may be slightly lighter. Monsoon can be farewell by the last week of September.

How long is the Chardham Yatra postponed?

The Chardham Yatra has been postponed till September 5, as a similar weather has been forecast in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, Nainital district recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours. Haldwani of the district recorded 116.6 mm, Chhorgalia 118 mm, Nainital city 114 mm, 98.4 mm in Mukteshwar, 92.5 mm in Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar, 85 mm in Betalghat, 82.4 mm in Munsiyari and 74.1 mm in Pithoragarh.

The water level of the Ganges in Haridwar-Rishikesh is close to the danger mark

The water level of Gaula river in Haldwani has reached 20 centimeters above the danger mark, while the water level of the Ganges in Haridwar and Rishikesh is also close to the danger mark. Officials said that 44,124 cusecs of water is flowing from Gaula Barrage and the water level of the barrage is steadily increasing. The water level of the Ganges river in Haridwar has reached 293.07 meters, while in Rishikesh has reached 339.70 meters and it is about one meter below the danger mark at both places.

79 people killed, 95 missing so far

The water level of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers (Rudraprayag), Song River (Dehradun), Banganga (Haridwar) and Gauriganga River (in Bangapani area of ​​Pithoragarh) are also close to the danger mark. This year, the monsoon has wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. So far 79 people have died in natural disasters, 114 people have been injured and 95 people are missing. (With language inputs)
