According to the information, the city is also facing severe floods due to the Dangerous level of Sutlej river being in spate. The strong streams of the river have started rapidly erosion, while the protective embankments in Motianwala Pattan and Moosa Azeem have been broken. More than 100 villages have been submerged due to the breakdown of embankments and hundreds of houses have been destroyed.
Fierce floods come every year in Pakistan
The floods have been washed away by about 10,000 acres of standing crops, while major roads connecting settlements have been washed away, which has stopped access to many areas. Thousands of residents have been displaced by this and are pleading for immediate relief. The rescue operations under the leadership of the DSP continue and officials have stated that more than 80 percent of the affected population and animals have been evacuated to safe places.
