Lungi Angidi broke Morne Morkel’s record by taking a special wicket of Joe Root, included in this special list against England
On Tuesday (September 2), Nandre Burger took the initial wicket for South Africa, after winning the toss in the first ODI between England and South Africa, after which Ngidi sent England batsman Joe Root to the pavilion. This wicket was very special for him as Angidi completed his 16 wickets in ODIs against England and overtook Morne Morkel (15 wickets).
Ngidi has now reached seventh in the list of South African bowlers who took the most wickets in ODIs against England. The top of this list is Sean Pollock, who took 40 wickets in 30 matches against England. He is followed by Allen Donald (31 wickets), Jacques Kallis (25 wickets), Kagiso Rabada (22 wickets), Makhaya NTney (20 wickets) and Wayne Parnell (17 wickets).
