Happy onam 2025 in hindi: Onam is a major festival of Kerala, which lasts for 10 days. It is a celebration of harvesting for Keralaites. It is celebrated in the month of Chingam of Malayali calendar. What do they do on Onam days and how do they celebrate? The festival of Onam is full of many traditions and customs. Every day has a special significance in these 10 days.

Day 1: Atham (Atham) This is the first day of Onam. On this day, people clean their homes and traditionally start making Pookalam. There is a Rangoli made of Pukalam flowers, which is made at the entrance of the house. On the first day it is started with a flower and another layer is added to it every day.

Day 2: Chithirai (Chithirai) On the second day, two to three more flowers are added to Pukalam. People decorate their homes even more.

Day 3: Kodi (Kodi) On this day people congratulate their friends and relatives on Onam. People buy new clothes and gifts, called Onam Kodi or Onam Kodi, Onakodi. Explain that buying new clothes for Onkkodi festival is an essential part of Onam festival.

Day 4: Visakam (Visakam) This day is to start preparations for Onam Sadya. Sadya is a special feast containing more than 24 dishes.

Day 6: Thriiketta Family members and friends meet each other and decorate the houses with flowers.

Day 7: Moolam (Moolam) On this day small Onam Sadya is organized. There are also traditional dances and sports in many places.

Day 8: Pooradam On this day, people install the idols of Lord Vamana and King Mahabali in the middle of Pukkalam, which is called Onathappan.

Day 9: Uthradam It is a day before Onam, known as the eve of Onam. On this day, King Mahabali is considered a return to the land. People harvest the crop and decorate the house.

Day 10: Thiruvonam (Thiruvonam) This is the most important and last day of Onam. On this day, people get up early in the morning and bathe and wear new clothes. Then they enjoy the traditional feast called Onam Sadya. This feast contains different types of dishes, which are served on banana leaves. People give gifts to each other and celebrate happiness.

Auspicious time of Onam Puja: On the 10th day of Onam, called Thiruvonam, is auspicious time of worship. This year Onam will be celebrated in September 2025.

On Onam, people wake up early in the morning and worship after bathing. There is no special Muhurta for this, because the whole day is considered auspicious. However, people prefer to worship between 6 am and 10 am.
